Skyler

Thanks for the welcome.

I actually have spce in
production, but only for consumers, i.e. individual home users.
This
is still early days and a very basic setup.
I still need to learn it.

What
I currently use for Commercial Market is a freeswitch Class 5 Switch as
well as the same setup as my SBC/Carrier Switch to my Providers.
The
reason I have the Freeswitch C5 switch in the SBC/Carrier slot is
because it can do Provider Billing amongst other useful things.
The
other main reason why I terminate commercial customers on it is because I
can generate on system invoices, i.e. CDRs are attached to the invoice.
It is also generated automatically based on a weekly, monthly,
quarterly, annually term.

I would prefer to have one distributed
platform/system as it makes support and maintenance much easier.

I
really love the SPCE all in one solution with the flexibility it
brings, but still need to do a lot of testing, learning before I can
ever think of only having it as the preferred platform/system.

I'll
be upgrading to the current version and then take it from there.
It
would still be great if the dev team could look into a feature to
generate invoices from within spce.

Kind Regards

Deon

<blockquote
Ya, you'll need a 3rd party app or build yer own BUT everything is
there for 100% integration. Feel free to ask the list for suggestions,
everyone is quite helpful as you've probably noticed. There is a lot of
power given via the provisioning (SOAP/XMLRPC) so no reason why you
couldn't make this happen in the 3rd party billing.

I also can't get my head around is DID/Trunk
Billing to customers who have their own in house PABX and SIP Trunk
Think of it this way:

SIP TRUNK CUSTOMER = SUBSCRIBER (they pay you)
PEER = UPSTREAM (you pay them)

Create each sip trunk as a subscriber, put the PABX IP:PORT as a
trusted
device, then add the DIDs for them as aliases. Calls to aliases will be
sent to the IP:PORT entered as the device. Lots of help available, any
time.

__pbrmquotes="true" class="__pbConvBody">Hi guys,

I'm excited to announce the new SPCE v2.8. Please check the official
announcement at

http://www.sipwise.com/news/announcements/spce-v2_8-release/

for a list of changes.

This version will be our first LTS version, so we will keep
back-porting
fixes and security updates to this version for the next three years. If
you want something rock-stable for the years to come, you should go with
that!

After v2.8 we'll switch to v3.0 (due in ~3 months as always) with a
completely reworked web panel, and we'll switch to a REST interface for
3rd party provisioning clients, and no more new features will be exposed
via the SOAP and XMLRPC (and we'll phase it out completely by end of
this year).

I'd like to thank you all for your valuable feedback and
discussions,
let's keep it going for the next v3.0 with some awesome changes ahead!

Thank you,
Andreas

PS: Please let us know if there goes something wrong in your upgrade
or
installation. It has been tested extensively via automated jobs and also
manually a lot of times, but if you find something nonetheless, we'll be
happy to fix it.
