Hi Thilo
Looks like it might be backported to 2.8 yes. It requires more testing and
patches to kamailio configuration and kamailio itself for adding the new
encode/decode functions.
If anyone is willing to try it and report back please contact with me. I'll
provide a test version of kamailio and custom templates.
