[Spce-user] nginx version 1.2.1 rather than 1.4.4?

Hi,

I noticed that spce 3.1 uses an older nginx version that what is currently available.

nginx -v : nginx version: nginx/1.2.1


but there are packages available for debian 7 that are already at 1.4.4 with all the latest security and bugfixes (dotdeb here http://www.dotdeb.org/2013/11/19/security-nginx-1-4-4-for-wheezy-and-squeeze/)

My question is, will upgrading to 1.4.4 break spce? Is there a specific reason to use an outdated version like 1.2.1?
