Hi Dave

It should be safe to upgrade to 2.8. The upgrade path would be 2.6 -> 2.7 -> 2.8

You would find changes in config.yml, more options in the admin panel and
changes in cdrexport. Besides these changes, the system would behave more or
less as you know it. 

Regarding kamailio crashes you can install the kamailio dbg package and send us
the coredump traces taken from /var/cores (I think that was the path).

The upgrade should be safe. Just backup your db, cdrexports, customtt files as
explained in the handbook. In the worst scenario you can download the 2.6
installer and go back in time. 

There's no way to keep 2.6 upgraded as it's an EOL version. At the moment only
2.8 version is supported in 2.x branch and it will be for the following ~3
years. It is highly recommended to every 2.x user to move to 2.8 (or jump to
3.x).
