[Spce-user] External ID not saved when adding Subscriber

I have found an issue when adding a subscriber on version 3.1.
 
To reproduce: 
>From the Customers page, select the customer and then select Add Subscriber.
Enter all relevant  information for the subscriber including External ID.
Click save.
 
This then takes you back to the subscribers list for the customer. Click
details next to the newly created subscriber and there is no External ID. 
Click edit, enter an External ID and click save. This time it is saved
correctly.
 
Any ideas?
