Spce has no PBX functions, SP PRO can have the additional PBX module. 
This additional module - available for PRO only - is provided by kamailio and sems basically.

Hi,
Asterisk is patched by us and serves basically voicemail, furthermore it just listens on localhost.
Don't see any risk frankly.
