Hi,

At random (but lately once a day) mediator will crash and refuse to start because there is something in the .lock file…

Jan 12 19:46:42 sipwise (debug) mediator[2178]: Overall 1945 CDRs created so far.
Jan 12 19:48:16 sipwise (crit) mediator[2178]: Error executing query: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction
Jan 12 19:48:16 sipwise (info) mediator[2178]: Shutting down.
Jan 12 19:48:16 sipwise (info) mediator[2178]: Successfully shut down.
Jan 12 19:48:16 sipwise (debug) mediator[2178]: Unlocking mediator.
Jan 12 19:48:34 sipwise (debug) mediator[20744]: Locking process.
Jan 12 19:48:34 sipwise (crit) mediator[20744]: Non-empty lock file '/var/lock/mediator.lock' detected, refusing to start. Examine its contents to learn about the cause, and then delete it to clear the error
Jan 12 19:48:34 sipwise (debug) mediator[20744]: Unlocking mediator.
Jan 12 19:49:19 sipwise (debug) mediator[20807]: Locking process.
Jan 12 19:49:19 sipwise (crit) mediator[20807]: Non-empty lock file '/var/lock/mediator.lock' detected, refusing to start. Examine its contents to learn about the cause, and then delete it to clear the error
Jan 12 19:49:19 sipwise (debug) mediator[20807]: Unlocking mediator.

I can’t find anything in syslog or mysql log files or error log. Where do I start, or is this a bug ?

This is in the lock file by the way:

# cat /var/lock/mediator.lock
Failed to execute potentially crucial SQL query, check syslog for details

… nothing to be found...

Thanks
Walter
