didn't logrotate say anything with the verbose mode enabled?


Wait until tomorrow and see if the rotation works. Maybe the logrotate command
in the cron job was returning error because the file didn't exist and with the
'-f' option you've forced it to run.

It's just a guess. You can try to google it and read the man of logrotate. I
think you're not the first one with this issue.
