do you need to only register or actually authenticate *outbound* calls
with different credentials?

- for receiving inbound calls you don't need to authenticate and one
peering server for all inbound calls is enough..

- if you really want to authenticate your outbound calls with the
peering server (this sounds a bit awkward so I just want to be sure),
you may actually create peering servers with the same IP in different
groups in all recent versions, at least >=mr3.2. What version are you
running?
