Hi William,

a 500 error in case of call to conference service is usually related to 
missing sound sets.
Please check:
  - that you have created a sound-set
  - that you have uploaded in the sound-set the announcements related to 
the conference service (if you prefer you can also use the already 
existing announcements)
  - that the sound-set is correctly associated to the subscriber or to 
the subscriber's domain.

If you still receive the 500 error back, then please collect kamailio 
proxy and sems error logs.
